Jahresausstellung des Schweizer Deerhound Clubs 2001

Bei schönem Herbstwetter fand am 15. September die diesjährige Clubausstellung statt. Sie wurde im Rahmen der Swisscombi-CAC-Veranstaltung des Windhundsportvereins Bern im Innenbereich der Rennbahn in Lotzwil bei Langenthal abgehalten.

Mit der Meldezahl von insgesamt fast 200 Windhunden war der veranstaltende Rennverein sicher sehr zufrieden und nutzte dies auch gleich, um mit einer grossen Gästeschar das frischeröffnete grosszügige Clubhaus einzuweihen.

Es war ein hübsches Bild, wie der Deerhound Club mit über 40 Deerhounds unter schottischer Musik Einzug hielt in den grosszügigen Ring und so die Jahresausstellung eröffnete.

Man hatte die langjährige Ibizian-Hound-Züchterin (Kennel Rosenhill) und Gruppe10- Richterin Frau Eli Klepp (früher Forset) aus Norwegen eingeladen. Sehr freundlich aber zielstrebig beurteilte sie die Hunde. Alle wurden genau geprüft und befühlt. Frau Klepp legte neben guten Winkelungen, einem länglichen Format und guter Fellqualität viel Wert auf ein ausbalanciertes Gangwerk, was zur Folge hatte, dass die Aussteller ordentlich «bewegt» wurden. Bei meistens mindestens 2 grossen Runden in rassigem Tempo verglich sie die Hunde genau.

Insgesamt wurden 15 Rüden gezeigt.

Bereits bei den 5 Jungrüden in der Jüngstenklasse wurde deutlich, dass die Schweiz offen für neue Wege in der Zucht ist, denn 4 der 5 haben eine Australierin, nämlich die letztjährige Clubsiegerin Nelungaloo Charaid, zur Mutter. Sie stammen aus dem D-Wurf Fiadhaich von Marianne Del Sole. Der 5. Jungrüde, der 7-monatige Fernhill’s High Glamour (Fernhill’s Turbulent Indigo x Fernhill’s Dulcinea) Züchterin: B. Heidenreich, im Besitz von Petra Pfenninger, wurde erst vor kurzem aus Kanada importiert und gefiel der Richterin am besten. Ihm wurde später auch das Jüngsten-BOB zuerkannt.

In der Jugendklasse präsentierte sich wiederum ein Hund aus Übersee. Lehigh Yanker the Deerhunter (Fernhill’s Torquil x Dunkeld Jihad Emma of Lehigh) Züchterin: Paula Pascoe, USA, Besitzer: R. Devaux / K. Rohrbach, der mit V1 aus dem Ring ging.

In der Offenen Klasse wurden 5 teilweise noch etwas unreife Rüden gezeigt. Wallace the Deerhunter (Secretis Nonsuch x Brylach Grevillea) Züchterin R. Devaux, Besitzer K. Schweizer erhielt V1 und kam später bei der Wahl des Besten Rüden auf den dritten Platz.

In der Gebrauchshundeklasse stand nur ein Rüde, Ch. Demian from Highlanders Yard (Aquila from Highlanders Yard x Lyonhil Vixen) Züchter und Besitzer: Fam. Kühne Hubert. Er sollte der grosse Gewinner des Tages werden. Zunächst ging er mit V1 aus dem Ring, um später bester Rüde zu werden und das CAC zu erhalten. Doch damit nicht genug wie man weiter unten lesen wird. Auch er hat übrigens eine amerikanische Mutter und einen australischen Grossvater.

In der Siegerklasse wurde wiederum nur 1 Rüde gezeigt: Ch. Cameron from Highlanders Yard (Aquila from Highlanders Yard x Brenda from Highlanders Yard) im Besitz von G. Breiter. Mit V1 wurde er später hinter Demian Reserve Bester Rüde mit RCAC ( in der Schweiz beteiligt sich auch die Championklasse an der Vergabe des CACs).

In der Veteranenklasse waren immerhin 2 fast zehnjährige alte Herren zu sehen: Quodlib Alpin of Baskerville (Ardkinglas Alvar  x  Roguesmoor Rhoana) Züchterin: A. Krehling im Besitz von Herrn Orschiedt und Nelungaloo Complete (Nelungaloo Swift x Nelungaloo Fleet) Züchterin: V. Hawke, Australien. Von seinem Besitzer Thomas Kühne mutig im schwingenden echten Kilt vorgeführt, erhielt Complete das V1. Er hatte sichtlich Freude daran, mal wieder einen Auftritt im Ring zu haben und war kaum dazu zu bewegen, brav seine Runde zu traben anstatt zu galoppieren.

Den Reigen der 25 Hündinnen eröffnete als einzige Jüngste Dana Dominique Fiadhaich (Calum Fiadhaich x Nelungaloo Charaid) Züchterin und Besitzerin M. Del Sole. Sie erhielt VV1.

In der Jugendklasse standen 5 Hündinnen. Lehigh Yankers Schwester Lehigh Yorlin the Deerhunter, ebenfalls im Besitz von R. Devaux und K. Rohrbach gewann mit V1 und erhielt das Jugend-BOB.

Mit 9 Hündinnen in der Offenen Klasse waren wieder einige aus Schweizer Zuchten aber auch aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Australien und den USA vertreten. Alle diese Hündinnen stehen übrigens in der Schweiz. Gewinnerin mit V1 und später drittbeste Hündin wurde Yarrow the Deerhunter (Aquila from Highlanders Yard x Veness the Deerhunter) Züchterin und Besitzerin R. Devaux.

5 Hündinnen standen in der Gebrauchshundeklasse. Die internationale Rennchampionesse und Ch. Crystal from Highlanders Yard (Aquila from Highlanders Yard x Brenda from Highlanders Yard) stand mit V1 vorne und wurde später beste Hündin.

In der Championklasse wurden 2 schon reifere erprobte Zuchthündinnen mit 7 bzw. 8. 5 Jahren gezeigt. Die jüngere Ch. Brenda from Highlanders Yard (Gayleward’s Prince Charming x Klyde of the Scottish Highlands) Züchter und Besitzer: Fam. Kühne Hubert, gewann, wurde später Reserve Beste Hündin und erhielt das RCAC hinter ihrer Tochter und Stallgefährtin Crystal.

In der Veteranenklasse traten 3 würdige alte Damen an im Alter von 8 bis 12 Jahren und die noch beeindruckend frische 12-jährige Ch. Quodlibet Elentari (Ardkinglas Euston x Quodlibet Caledonia) Züchterin: H. Quaritsch-Fricke, Besitzer: G. Zekert gewann und erhielt später das Veteranen-BOB.

Bei der Ermittlung des BOBs wurde dies Ch. Demian from Highlanders Yard zugesprochen, der schon als 8‑monatiger Jüngster an der Clubausstellung1998 zum Besten Rüden erklärt wurde und nun diese Vorschusslorbeeren bestätigte. Doch damit nicht genug, mit viel Schwung und offensichtlichem Spass an der Sache erlief er sich später im Ehrenring das BIS.

Die Wahl des schönsten Kopfes hatte man sich für den Ehrenring aufgehoben, um so alle daran teilhaben zu lassen. Es war ein schönes Bild, als Frau Klepp nochmals alle ausgestellten Deerhounds in den Ring bat und sie in grossem Halbrund vor ihr standen. Sie liess sich Zeit mit der Wahl und entschied sich schliesslich für Crystal from Highlanders Yard, die den Wanderpokal nun wieder mit nach Hause nahm, nachdem ihn letztes Jahr ihre Halbschwester Esprit gewann.

Beim anschliessend im Ehrenring stattfindenden Paarklassen- und Zuchtgruppenwettbewerb aller Windhundrassen entschieden sich die Richter wieder für die Deerhounds From Highlanders Yard und so wurde die diesjährige Clubausstellung ein riesiger Erfolg für diese Zuchtstätte.
